Annika joined Biosymm as a Physiotherapist in 2014. After graduating as an Exercise Scientist from the University of Western Australia in 2006, she chose to further pursue her interests in injury management and injury prevention by undertaking a Master of Physiotherapy degree at Curtin University. Prior to joining Biosymm and following her passion in occupational health, Annika worked nationally and internationally in various areas of the physiotherapy domain. At Biosymm, Annika has provided physiotherapy services to several Rio Tinto minesites, for ATCO Gas, Wesfarmers and more recently Aurizon.
Annika has an elite sporting background, having previously represented Australia in Rowing for 4 years and Western Australia in Surf Lifesaving. Her sporting pursuits have encouraged her injury management interests, which has led her to complete further professional development as a Physiotherapist in dry needling and is also a qualified STOTT pilates instructor. Her pursuit of continuous improvement has also lead Annika to undertake a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is currently completing a Master of Business Administration (UWA).
Annika is also very passionate about injury prevention and ensuring optimal treatment enabling the return of an individual to the activities that they enjoy and to the workplace as soon as possible. In her spare time, Annika loves being in the outdoors, pursuing different kinds of exercise, travelling, socialising with friends and cooking.
