Meet the team

Greg Borman joined Biosymm in 2006. Graduating from Curtin University in 2000, Greg worked in private practice for four years, before heading to the UK. In London Greg developed an interest in occupational health and safety, working with both the Bank of England and BP. Upon returning to Perth in 2006, Greg begun working with Kieran Bell and became an equal partner in 2008. Greg manages the administrative folio of the business and is responsible for business improvement and systems development. Greg also shares responsibility for management of corporate clients with Janelle and other senior staff. Greg is the recent past national chair of the Occupational Health chapter of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomic Society of Australia (HFESA).

Libby joined Biosymm in March 2011. She initially worked with Biosymm as an Occupational Technician after graduating from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) in 2010. Libby has since moved into the role of Practice Manager. She is currently studying a Certificate IV in Book Keeping and Accounting and Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.

Ben joined Biosymm in October 2015 and initially graduated from university with his physiotherapy degree in 2001. He has extensive experience working in private practices around Perth, and has then worked in an occupational health settings since 2008. Ben manages our functional assessment, Telehealth programs and provides pre-employment and workstation assessments for businesses around Perth. He is also a member of the APA Occupational Health Group in WA which advocates for physiotherapists in occupational health and supports professional development. Outside of work, his spare time is mainly taken up with his four children, their sporting interests and he is closely involved with their sporting clubs.

Jonathon manages the business operations throughout the South-West and East Coast and supports the delivery of services to our corporate clients throughout these regions. Jonathon joined Biosymm in August 2014, originally performing a role of onsite Physiotherapist for Rio Tinto West Angelas for 18 months before transitioning to a Perth based role as onsite Physiotherapist for Wesfarmers CSBP for three and a half years. Jonathon’s education background includes a Masters of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Exercise Rehabilitation and a Bachelor of Science. Jon has also had several years’ experience working in both private practice and sports physiotherapy. Jon has a strong interest in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Exercise Rehabilitation. His personal interests include travelling and sports of all types.

Damian joined Biosymm in September 2011. He graduated from Notre Dame University in 2006, with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. After graduating, Damian moved to Kalgoorlie where he worked in private practice for 3 years, including working with local and state sporting teams. After moving back to Perth, he worked in private practice for a further 2 years in Midland before joining the Biosymm team. Damian manages the Onsite Physiotherapy folio of the business where he is responsible for training, mentoring and providing coverage for a team of physiotherapists and supporting the delivery of services to a number of clients including Rio Tinto, BHP and Roy Hill. He is also involved in various project-based work and is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), Occupational Health Physiotherapy Australia (OHPA) and Human Factors and Ergonomic Society of Australia (HFESA).

Adrian’s background is in high-level strategic and operational management at senior levels in private enterprise and government. He has held positions as Assistant Commissioner, General Manager and Director in enterprise, government and non-government sectors with extensive experience working alongside CEOs and Boards. In addition to Adrian’s diverse industry experience, he is tertiary qualified and holds a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management, a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management and a Diploma in Business. He is also an Associate Fellow with the Australian College of Health Service Management and a Chartered Health Executive.

Adrian holds in excess of 30 years’ experience in developing and administering proactive outcomes, through the implementation of sustainable strategies. With a proven track record in improving culture, teamwork, productivity and operational outputs through the development, implementation and promotion of simple yet effective best practice human resource methodologies across all levels of the workforce.

Adrian’s approach to the delivery of services have resulted in a strong commitment to working in partnership with others.

Ruth’s background is as a clinical physiotherapist in a variety of settings, as well as a team leader, client relationship manager and business development manager within allied-health. After practicing as a physiotherapist in the UK, Ruth left for a world travel experience and landed in Australia in 2014. Since then she has lived and worked in Melbourne, Hobart and joined Life Ready Biosymm in Perth in October 2018. Ruth has worked both within our clinic and onsite, giving a broad knowledge of the different high-quality services that Life Ready Biosymm provide. She currently works as the Business Development Lead for the company, coordinating services for our growing client base, including the provision of new technology such as suitX exoskeletons.

Christine joined Biosymm in August 2011 as a junior Receptionist, she now works as an Administration Assistant working closely with the Practice Manager and the company Directors. Christine has completed a Certificate IV in Business Administration, a Certificate IV in Project Management, is currently completing her cert 3/4 in fitness and with success as a qualified personal training hopes to commence her diploma of remedial massage at the end of 2017. When Christine isn’t studying or planning her next holiday adventure – she can be found at the Rivervale clinic where she’s happy to help you with any appointments or general enquiries!

Mel’s clinical interest lies in the management of complex and persistent pain issues. A graduate of Curtin University, Mel has over 20 years’ experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, in both the UK and Australia, across public and private sectors. She completed an MSc Medicine Master of Science in Medicine (Pain Management) through the University of Sydney and regularly attends national and international conferences to remain at the forefront of current research. Involved in the development and delivery of the internationally acclaimed STEPS program at Fremantle Hospital Pain Medicine Unit, she has adapted the model to enable effective management of individual patients seen in private practice. A passionate educator, Mel is involved in training other health professionals to improve clinical outcomes when managing patients with persistent pain, and displays particular expertise when managing compensable cases that have reached an impasse. She consistently utilises objective outcome measures and follows best practice by providing psychologically informed physiotherapy. She is a valued member of the Biosymm team, and a current member of the Australian Pain Society, International Association for the Study of Pain and Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Daniel graduated from Curtin University in 2009 and moved straight into the private practice sector where he developed a keen interest in all things musculoskeletal, in particular chronic low back pain and sports injuries. Since 2012 he has also been working within in the occupational health sector, as an on-site physiotherapist in both FIFO and Perth based roles and has completed a graduate certificate in OH&S. He is also the Managing Partner of Life Ready Physiotherapy Marangaroo. Outside of work Daniel enjoys anything sport related and plays football for the mighty Hamersley Carine Hawks. He also loves kicking back with his wife and young daughter.

Zoe graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) in 2017. After leaving university Zoe worked in Private Practice for two years where she assessed, diagnosed, treated and managed a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Zoe joined Biosymm in 2020 as a Perth Clinic Physiotherapist, where she is able to use her passion for early intervention and injury prevention to help clients achieve the best outcomes. She has experience working with the WAFL umpires, and is a current physio for the AFL umpires, where she assists with injury prevention, rehabilitation and return to sport. In her spare time Zoe enjoys keeping active at the gym, stand up paddle boarding, swimming and loves to take her dog for walks along the coast and to the beach.

Jessica is one of Biosymm’s team leaders and since joining the Biosymm family in 2017, Jess has worked as a site physio across Rio Tinto, CSBP and Newmont Boddington Gold. Throughout her studies she worked closely with state rugby and football teams, providing on field and post-game assessment and treatment. Since graduating Jess has gained clinical experience across a broad spectrum of areas, including private practice, rehabilitation in the home, inpatient orthopedics and outpatient neurology. Jess is very passionate about travelling and exploring the world, in her spare time she enjoys trying our new restaurants, doing yoga, going on hikes and being surrounded by nature.

Anna completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle in 2016. After 3 years in private practice Anna joined us in July 2019. She has experience in many aspects of physiotherapy including private practice, amateur and semi-professional sport, Telehealth and occupational physiotherapy. Anna has a keen interest in long-term pain and has a passion for empowering patients with knowledge to assist self-management and ensure long term treatment outcomes. Anna is passionate about improving health literacy throughout society and takes every opportunity to to assist others in this space. Anna not only loves being able to help people get through daily life pain free but achieve their sport and recreation goals. She believes in applying evidence based practice, exercise therapy and functional training to formulate the best outcome for her patients. She has a strong interest in using technology to collect data and facilitate research projects to improve upon current evidence. When Anna is not treating she enjoys frolicking at the beach and boating like all good West Australians!

Oliver studied physiotherapy at the University of Notre Dame and graduated in 2015 before pursuing a career in private practice. During this time, he used his training whilst working extensively alongside the Department of Veteran Affairs, rehabilitating veterans from over the last 5 decades.

Oliver was able to include his love of sport in his work by becoming heavily involved with several sporting clubs including netball, rugby league and football.

When he’s not working, despite his inability to tan, Oliver enjoys playing beach volleyball, diving and anything beach related.

Tim returns to the Biosymm team after 5 years in which he ran a small private clinic in Manjimup alongside working on a family run apple orchard. He was previously based in an onsite role covering Rio Tinto’s port operations in Dampier and Cape Lambert along with coverage work across many mine sites in the Pilbara. After graduating from Curtin in 2002 with a Masters of Physiotherapy, Tim worked in private practice focusing on acute injury management with particular interest in Australian Rules Football through his involvement with East Perth Football Club. He maintains a strong interest in injury rehabilitation, with a focus on strength and conditioning to help his patients regain and improve their pre-injury function.

Since starting with Biosymm in 2014 Will has worked throughout WA in the mining sector with a number of clients including Rio Tinto, Roy Hill, Downer, BHP and South 32. Will has built up a wealth of knowledge with these clients, gaining injury management and injury prevention experience in open cut mining, underground mining and processing plants. As of 2018 he stepped into a team leader role within the Biosymm business providing training, mentoring and site coverage for the team along with project work for our clients. He is also currently completing a cert IV in H&S. Will originally graduated from the University of Otago in 2010 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and subsequently spent 3 years working in a Dunedin based private practice in New Zealand. It was in Dunedin where he gained experience in return to work rehabilitation, occupational physiotherapy with Silver Fern Farms and sports Physiotherapy, which included time with the Super Rugby Highlanders development squad, Otago U19’s and Premier grade Rugby clubs. His personal interests include Rugby, sailing, travelling and is passionate about personal fitness.

Lesi graduated from Otago University (New Zealand) with a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Physiology and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2005. She has since worked both in private musculoskeletal clinics and musculoskeletal outpatients departments in New Zealand, the UK and Australia. Her background is in various musculoskeletal conditions of both an acute and chronic nature. She also has experience in occupational rehabilitation and pain management programmes. Since moving to Perth a year ago, Lesi has developed an interest in the Occupational Health sector and is currently working in the areas of Telehealth and Perth based corporate functional assessments, including pre-employment medicals and return to work assessments. Lesi has also worked with Pfizer, CBH Group and Pybar Mining Services providing physiotherapy services of a varied nature.

Kelly graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2014. Kelly moved to Darwin, NT in 2016 where she worked in private practice for over 3 years gaining experience in complex workers compensation cases, palliative care, clinical pilates and women’s health.

Kelly relocated to Perth in August 2019 to commence working with Biosymm as an on-site physiotherapist in the central Pilbara at Mining Area C and Yandi – BHP.

Outside of work, you’ll find Kelly planning her next adventure, running, cycling or picnicking at sunset.

Originally from Canada, Laura travelled to Australia to complete her Master of Physiotherapy. With an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, the study of human movement, Laura has a thorough understanding of how the human body functions. Laura began her career working in private practice and is experienced in treating a wide range of acute and chronic injuries. After several years in private practice, Laura saw the importance of early injury intervention, particularly in working populations, and followed her passion for injury management into the field of occupational health. Gaining experience providing onsite physiotherapy services for several companies based out of Perth, Laura took her skills over to Queensland where she now provides both clinical and onsite physiotherapy services for Biosymm in Brisbane.

Mike graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and immediately began work in the private practice setting. Providing services to A Grade level sports teams, private patients and aged care clients. Since joining Biosymm in February 2018 he has been providing onsite physiotherapy and injury prevention services to Rio Tinto Robe Valley Operations in the Pilbara. Mike has a strong interest musculoskeletal conditions and treatment from initial manual therapy through to exercise rehabilitation and work conditioning, keeping up with evidence based-practice. Outside of work Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and fur kid, while playing and watching as much sport as possible.

Richard has a Master of Physiotherapy and a Bachelor of Exercise Science from Griffith University in Queensland. Before moving to WA Richard has worked in private practice specialising in sports injuries and patients with chronic pain. Richard is currently based out of the Perth clinic and also works as a relief physiotherapist at Rio Tinto’s mine sites throughout the Pilbara. Richard has a special interest in health and fitness with an emphasis on endurance. He has run many marathons including the Machu Picchu marathon in Peru and the Marathon Des Sables in Morocco; a six-day, 251 km ultramarathon. This experience has given him valid insight into the preparation and training needed for endurance events including the care/maintenance of reoccurring injuries.

Tim graduated from the University of Notre Dame Fremantle with a double degree in Physiotherapy and Exercise & Sport Science. Throughout his studies, Tim gained qualifications in Strength & Conditioning and worked as a Sports Trainer for Wembley Amateur Football Club. Tim gained valuable experience working as a private practice physiotherapist in Karratha and the wider Pilbara region, delivering services to remote indigenous communities. Outside of work, Tim loves all things basketball and getting down to the beach.
